Description

The objective of the project was the provision of support for the implementation of all required actions prior to the launch of TAP’s “Supplier Training Program” in Greece, Italy and Albania.
In summary, Kantor performed the following tasks:

  • Pre-assess and identify potential suppliers operating in Greece, Albania and Italy that already meet TAP’s financial, technical and quality criteria;
  • Assess the “gaps” and training needs of local companies that do not currently fully meet TAP’s technical requirements and standards;
  • Select the companies to participate in TAP’s “Supplier Training Program”, according to their “gaps” and their training cost  and considering TAP’s budget constraints;
  • Support TAP in the tendering process for the selection of training institutes, certification companies and consulting firms which will deliver the Program (“delivery actors”);
  • Support in the design and implementation of required communication initiatives related to the Program (e.g. prepare presentations for external stakeholders and events, support in the preparation of press-releases, prepare content for the website etc.);
  • Prepare a concept document for the development of a viable and  implementable “co-funding scheme” along with NSRF in Greece, in order to maximize the number of potential companies to be trained;
  • Support in the detailed design and implementation the above “co-funding vehicle”, provided that it is approved by TAP;
  • Support TAP in the management and monitoring of the overall implementation effort through preparing progress tracking and risk management reports.

Regarding the generated expertise and value added, the project provided TAP with a list of pre-assessed suppliers that can meet its demand (products and services) and comply with its financial, technical and quality criteria, so that they can then bid for contracts with large EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) construction companies. In addition, TAP, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Program, can deliver capability enhancement Programs and provide vocational and gas related technical training and education linked to access roads’ and pipelines’ construction.
